So, he re I am once again running the MRSQ through the streets of Montreal. It’s a “Fat-Ass” 50K ultra starting in the the West Island and snaking its way to the top of Mount Royal. And for those who are a little more crazy, there is a 100K that starts the night before and finishes at the same place as the 50k.
This is my second year running it, and with hopes of beating last year’s time of 6:07. I’ll keep you posted on Sunday. Forecast calls for another hot day, near the 29° mark by afternoon. So if you are running it, make sure to drink and fuel adequately.
So if you see a handful of runners finding their way to the mountain, give them some support and encouragement.

On June 21, I ran my first (and not last) ultra marathon. A 50km run, right here in my hometown. An event organized by http://www.questmontroyal.com/ where you can run from 50km to 100km through the streets of Montreal.
Most ultra runners are used to trail runs, but this one is 100% city streets, bike paths and some uphill trails on Mont Royal.
Was a great experience, and will do it again in 2016. Check them out!
On June 21, 2015, I will embark on my first ultra marathon event held right here in Montreal. Its a 50km ultra running through the streets and bike paths in Montreal, and ending at the summit on Mount Royal mountain. Should be fun, and wish me well! This will be the longest test run of the SUMOgrips as well.
This run starts at 6:00AM near my house (how cool is that!) and it goes through Montreal on streets and bike paths, and is run as a “fat ass” type race. Very little support, so we need to be self-sufficient at all times.
Toronto GoodLife Fitness Marathon, held May 3, 2015. This was my first race out of the province and my third marathon. Training through the coldest winter in over 70 years was to say the least, “special”. Like the saying goes, “Summer bodies are made in winter”.
We left for Toronto Saturday morning, along with my wife Penny and our daughter. Penny was competing in her first marathon. After arriving in TO, we went straight to the expo to pick up our kits, then for lunch and off to the hotel in Vaughan.
